Updated March 13th, 2021, by Gene Cole: The shoot 'em up genre has gotten tons of options over the years, but this format has evolved in plenty of ways that make the definition of a run & gun game vary wildly from person to person. To pay tribute to this fine genre that will hopefully see more love in the future, here are 10 of the best the genre has to offer. However, the run and gun genre does get some love in the indie scene with great games like Blazing Chrome and Cuphead. RELATED: 10 Canceled Shooters You Never Knew Existed Like a rhythmic ballet, Cuphead requires awareness, dexterity, and precision, and those who heed these virtues are rewarded for their efforts. A perfect example of this is the run and gun genre. Run & guns have a set amount of stages that you must work through by dodging, shooting, and taking out bosses, amounting to a somewhat short experience, something that wouldn’t fly in an era when games cost millions to make and over $70 to purchase. The game can be absolutely brutal at times, especially for those who aren’t used to the challenging difficulty of early arcade games from the 90s. Gotta run now, but I've made a ton of contributions to this game's forum about this issue, and related Nintendo switch controller, and other controller issues, and I think this 'reset to default' in the controller settings might solve all of these problems, so I will see the other places where I reported this, and post this as a possible solution. Thanks to the massive budgets and need for a return of investment in the game industry, there are some genres that really don’t get any love. It found my Dualshock 4.and I was tinkering with the settings, then i clicked 'reset to default'.and voila, I FINALLY got this bloody thing working with Cuphead thanks to your awesome seriously man I owe you one. I followed your advice, and opened up the 'set up usb game controller' as instructed. Do you just have one controller listed there? OMG OMG!!! I could KISS you.this thing has been driving me insane for the longest time and because of your advice I've FIXED IT!!!!! I am actually dancing now. This screen should list all detected controllers.

If you are on Windows 7 you should be able to open your control panel and have an option for Game Devices. If you can't find it that way you should also be able to type in Control Panel (click it), then select Devices and Printers, right click on your controller (should be listed somewhere here), and select Game Settings. To make matters even worse, one-on-one boss battles occur frequently and are almost impossible to beat. As you travel through Disney-style environments, you’ll encounter annoying enemies in every frame. You should have a control panel item pop up that you can click on. Play as Cuphead, and enlist a companion to play as Mugman, while you work together to collect Soul Contracts for the Devil. What's even stranger is that I finnished the game with a PS3 wireless controller and the Xbox360 drivers and had absolutely no issues! RetroRGBs MaLa Front End - Manual Setup Warning: All pages in the Arcade / MAMEsection are still a work in progress Ive tested the instuctions on multiple systems and havent had any trouble, but it will take time before enough people confirm their results to remove this warning.
What is strange is that it let's me "push any button" yet nothing beyond this. I think you might be onto something with your theory though.

My setup is a stock standard PS4 controller, with no extra software, using the offical Bluetooth DS4 USB wirelles dongle, as seen in the link below. If you have any controller like software, such as XPadder, 360ce, or Joy2Key, try disabling them. If you have any other controllers connected, disconnect all controllers and plug in the one you want to use first. Open devices and printers and see if there's more than one controller listed.
